Hydra Cluster
Picked fresh in season and processed on the spot. This was my first time handling a galaxy cluster in PixInsight, and I simplified parts of my usual galaxy workflow along the way. It was also the first time I used the new WBPP from end to end — calibration, registration, weighting and integration, all in one go.
Also in the frame is NGC 3314, two galaxies overlapping along the line of sight, one far and one near. At first glance they look as though they have crashed into each other, which is rather fun.
From Wiki: The Hydra Cluster is a cluster of 157 bright galaxies, seen from Earth in the constellation Hydra. It spans some ten million light-years and contains an unusually high proportion of dark matter.
