M2 / NGC 7089 — Globular Cluster in Aquarius
A massive globular cluster of our galaxy. Being relatively distant (55,000 light-years), it appears smaller than several better-known globulars. Catalogued as M2 — immediately after the Crab Nebula (M1) on Messier's list — it is about 13 billion years old, making it one of the Milky Way's most ancient members.
