The background, which resembles a net, is known as the "Sh2-129 Flying Bat" and is located in the constellation Cepheus. It is a very special celestial object. OU4 looks like a long blue beam of light surrounded by a giant red gas cloud. This nebula is unique because of its distinct shape and color, attracting many astronomy enthusiasts and photographers.
At the center of OU4, there are three stars much larger than the Sun. These stars produce strong winds that shape the gas into the beam (squid) form that we see.
OU4 is located in the constellation Cepheus, about 2300 light-years away from Earth. In this image, you can see the cyan-colored OU4 nebula contrasting sharply with the surrounding magenta-colored bat nebula, showcasing the majestic beauty of the cosmos. Additionally, in the upper right corner, there's a small, adorable nebula known as vdB 140, which also made it into the frame.
It took approximately three months to complete the collection.
