I've been involved in astrophotography for about five years, though I haven’t been up the mountains or photographed a comet in nearly three years. This time, I traveled to Alishan with my family and took the opportunity to capture the brightest comet in the Northern Hemisphere in the last 20 years.
Since the Hale-Bopp comet, it was the first time I could see such a flashlight-like comet with the naked eye. Paired with the summer Milky Way, along with breathtaking views of the sunrise over Yushan, a sunset above a sea of clouds, and the playful monkeys on Zhushan, this trip to Alishan was incredibly worthwhile. I believe it’s an unforgettable journey for the entire family.
